The three colleges under the School of Humanities are the College of Arts and Sciences, College of Education, and the College of Nursing.

AND SCIENCES

VISION

The College of Arts and Sciences is the center of excellence in liberal arts education in the region.

    

MISSION

The College of Arts and Sciences provides the student with a strong liberal education. A liberal education program equips students with the breadth that characterizes a FAITH education. Breadth results from the assimilation of the content, utilization of different teaching approaches and infusion of diverse disciplines.

The First Asia Institute core curriculum is offered to all students through the general education program of the College of Arts and Sciences. The general education requirements elevate students to a proficiency level that prepares them to meet the challenges of their respective college curriculum, thus, allowing them to realize intellectual depth through their majors.

The College of Arts and Sciences, likewise, aims to produce competent professionals in the fields of communication, mathematics and psychology. Through teaching, research and service infused with humanistic values seamlessly integrated with technology and the sciences, the College of Arts and Science seeks to contribute to local, national and global transformation.

GOALS OF THE COLLEGE
In order to accomplish its mission, the College shall provide:

• To ensure student development through varied educational experiences that facilitate formation of the total person
• To build among students the habits of critical reflection, creative thought, and synthesis of knowledge from diverse perspectives
• To empower faculty members through personal and professional advancement for quality service to students
• To deliver excellent instruction in general education and professional courses
• To ensure provision of adequate physical facilities to address curricular, instruction, and student development needs
• To collaborate and share resources with the community for the purpose of contributing to social transformation

VISION

The Bachelor of Secondary Education & Elementary Education Programs envisions an educated populace by producing effective educators and molders of character.

    

MISSION
In support of its vision, the department is committed to:

1. provide a variety of learning opportunities which foster in our graduates an appreciation of the richness of human experience and promote a balance between individual achievement and community responsibility;
2. emphasize the application of knowledge, skills and attitudes that will enable education students to become exemplary educators;
3. empower individuals to become compassionate, committed, competent, and responsible citizens who value education as a lifelong process; and
4. promote community involvement, relevant extension and outreach programs.
